«The decision to pick up a camera could be looked at as a decisive moment in itself. Even more so is the decision to make a living with one; we’re essentially deciding to interpret and convey ideas through our unique inner vision, using this to promote a change in the perceptions and, ultimately, attitudes of our viewers.
Photography leads us to develop our conscience, sensitivity and knowledge, giving us the tools to augment and refine our innate capacity to express ourselves.
Within these galleries, I have selected and published my images and thoughts as a means of seeing and hearing those of others, given that the simple act of being in tune with others is a form of communication.
This website is dedicated to happiness.
This particular variety of happiness originates from of the sheer joy of creation, a natural inclination to express a mood or a fleeting feeling. Photography is my personal means of interpreting my existence, in essence, the purpose of life (my purpose in life).
Given this approach, I consequently don’t place much, if any, emphasis on styles or trends. In my view, all that’s necessary is a certain amount of inner desire.
As photographers, the world around us seems to offer a never-ending stream of innately beautiful subjects.
A positive outlook on things is an entirely personal matter. It has never once occurred to me to bring photography to bear on themes of adversity, sickness, hunger, poverty or any of the terror accompanying so many world events.
There is a certain type of image that tells a story and tends to zero in on the more dramatic aspects of reality, while there is another type concerned with dreams and dreaming.
Of course, conversely, it’s not hard to find beautiful images that illustrate drama-filled events.
Here, the artist uses his mastery of photographic technique to demonstrate his creativity. Attention to the subject is what matters most. The ability to find and reveal beauty, to be creative, to have a positive view of the world, are all essential traits.
My desire is to share my enthusiasm with others.
The instant a photographer chooses to release the shutter and isolate a certain moment of reality, it can be said that everything falling outside the area of the frame is, in effect, removed from the image, being regarded as unimportant.
In contrast to a painter who, beginning from a blank canvas must necessarily add elements to it in order to create his vision, a photographer’s starting point is starkly different. Often quite complex, the photographic images is highly structured, multifaceted and sometimes filled with elements with the potential to confuse or distract the viewer or otherwise interfere with the photographer’s intended interpretation of the scene.
For this reason, a photographer’s job is to be consistently adept at identifying, selecting and synthesizing everything that falls within his frame.
This is what we refer to as composition.
Good composition is critical in judging the quality of a photograph.
Light, essential for vision, is our greatest ally.
With photography as our tool, we are able to manipulate light to create emotionally engaging images, each exuding rare beauty. Here we have the power to immortalize moments.
In our continual search for happiness, we don’t always need to find ourselves at the extremes of bravery, however we do have the responsibility to ensure the choices we make ultimately lead us at least one step closer towards our self-realization, beliefs and dreams.»
